Developing a New Worldview

When we cultivate and exercise our spiritual intelligence, we invariably come to a place of new realizations and new horizons. Using our spiritual intelligence allows us to develop a new outlook on life. Beliefs that the physical world is all there is in life, that unlimited wealth accumulation is our ultimate goal and that status and possessions in and of themselves will make us happy and fulfilled are all based on mistaken understandings. However, the good news is that each one of us has the ability to use our innate intelligence to adopt a truer worldview based on spiritual understanding. A spiritually based worldview might include the following understanding: 1. The universe is far greater and more complex that what we experience on the physical plane; we are aware that there is a vast intelligence that organizes and orchestrates all of life. 2. We are eternal consciousness and everything in the universe is made of the same spiritual essence as ourselves. 3. There are many levels and dimensions to our existence; these dimensions interact continuously to form the sum total of space, time, matter and energy in the universe. 4. The entire universe is energy in motion, including those parts that appear solid and static. The only constant is change and growth. 5. We are co-creators of our lives on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual planes of existence. 6. We respect and validate non-linear ways of knowing and perceiving; we acknowledge that our rational, linear human mind cannot hold or know all of the answers to life’s questions. 7. We appreciate that our lives are precious and that we must use our time wisely to learn from our mistakes and to commit our lives to the evolution of our being: towards greater love, goodness, compassion, generosity, wisdom, cooperation, reverence, responsible stewardship of the Earth, non-judgment, freedom, wholeness and to the ultimate experience of the truth that we are all one.
