Who or What is "God" or Universal Intelligence?

I will be the first to admit that answering the question of “who or what is God” is an impossible undertaking; but at the same time, I feel that each one of us is compelled to ask this question and to seek answers. Many people have a negative reaction to the word “God” and for this reason, I generally refer to the great universal force and intelligence as Spirit, the Divine, the Creator or the Source. The "God" that I know bears little resemblance to the "God" of organized religion. This “God” does not judge and does not hand down edicts and commandments. Instead, this "God" lovingly and patiently allows us to employ our creative powers and free will to learn about universal spiritual laws and about the beauty, mystery and incredible love underlying all of creation. Spirit is the universal power and intelligence that creates and sustains life on all planes of existence. The Divine is not a person, not a thing, not a principle – it is a force and intelligence beyond definition. Because the Divine is in every being and in everything that exists, it is not possible to give a comprehensive definition of the greatest mystery of the universe. For me, our Creator is the unified field of vibration that generates life and that is life itself. Our Creator is the highest expression of the principles of unconditional love, extraordinary goodness and infinite creativity. The Source is beyond space, beyond time and beyond the ability of the human brain to fully comprehend. Each one of us is a cell in the body of the Divine and the Divine lives in the heart of each one. Although it appears a paradox to the human mind, we are both separate individuals and a unified whole at the same time. Each one of us is here to understand and deepen our powers of creation, for we are a microcosm of the macrocosm that Spirit is. We did not come to Earth to follow a set of predetermined rules and regulations. Rather, we came here to come to know ourselves as sparks of the Divine mind, as bearers of the torch of Divine love, as powerful creators of new experiences and new realities. We are here to better know ourselves as Divine co-creators through the process of life on the physical plane; and our growth and evolution in this span of physical reality also contributes to the growth and evolution of our Creator. This process is part of the ever-expanding cycle of life in all of its forms and manifestations, and is an inextricable part of Spirit. Nothing in the universe happens at random and each one of us plays an important part in the great mystery of life.
